Bombshell Dance Project takes on Lord of the Flies in an all female adaptation of the classic story. Written by Julia Lederer and developed in Bombshell's signature immersive style, Flies will draw you deep into another world where you'll make life and death decisions alongside the women of the island.
Bombshell Dance Project is seeking female identifying dance theater artists for their latest immersive work Flies premiering October 2024. Flies is an all female adaptation of the novel Lord of the Flies, written by Julia Lederer and choreographed by Emily Bernet and Taylor Rodman. The piece centers on seven women stranded on a deserted island.
Artists must have professional dance experience, and must be Dallas based and available for all rehearsals and performances. Bombshell creates on a collaborative basis and prioritizes working with artists who have a strong ability to problem solve. Come dance with us!
Audition includes class, repertory, devising, reading lines
Bombshell Dance Project partners with the Dallas Contemporary to present the first installment of the Dallas Creation Lab. Curated by Bombshell’s Emily Bernet and Taylor Rodman, the project will include a week of creative process in the Dallas Contemporary’s empty gallery, ending with a one-night-only performance experience. Step into the creative process of seven Dallas artists for an up close look at their latest explorations as they build one collaborative work, and stick around after the performance for a discussion with the artists followed by light sips and bites. Come for the performance, stay for the party!
Open Performance: Saturday July 27th @ 5pm | The Dallas Contemporary
The women of Bombshell Dance Project bring their collaborative creative process to He Said/She Said for a one-night-only performance in the gallery. Inspired by the women artists featured in He Said/She Said, Bombshell takes a movement approach to the exhibition's themes of gender norms and sexism, commenting on art and dance made by male artists from a fresh female perspective.
An exhibition ticket is not required to view the performance. Performance space is limited and first come, first served. Registration is required.
Immerse yourself in a movement-based performance by Bombshell Dance Project inspired by the exhibitions The Impressionist Revolution from Monet to Matisse and From Munch to Kirchner: The Heins Collection of Modern and Expressionist Art.
